Operation Deep Valor was founded by a United States Army Paratrooper who struggled to find his purpose after serving 20 years in the military, including multiple deployments in support of both Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. Upon retirement, he almost immediately lost his sense of purpose. The transition out of the military was extremely difficult after two decades of service. He deeply missed the camaraderie of his fellow soldiers, the structure, and the sense of mission that came with wearing the uniform.

Driven by a desire to help others facing similar struggles, he founded Operation Deep Valor to support veterans in rediscovering purpose, connection, and community beyond the battlefield. During his own search for healing and direction, he discovered a local dive shop and began taking scuba lessons. What started as a personal challenge quickly became a passion. He became a certified open water diver and eventually earned his Open Water Dive Instructor certification. This new path allowed him to share his love for scuba diving and demonstrate how it had helped improve his mental health and manage physical ailments.

Today, Operation Deep Valor provides veterans with access to therapeutic scuba diving experiences, mentorship, and a supportive community of fellow servicemembers and instructors. Through carefully structured dive programs, retreats, and training courses, the organization offers veterans the opportunity to heal both mentally and physically, while building confidence, resilience, and a renewed sense of mission.

The core belief of Operation Deep Valor is that purpose doesn't end with military service—it evolves. By reconnecting veterans to nature, to others, and to themselves, the organization helps them navigate life after service with strength, courage, and deep valor.
